Child Labour in India

In India employment of children below age 14 in "business" of "industry" with their ability to attend regular school, especially when considered exploitative or illegal.

Today around "215 Million" children are labour in the world.  Many children are forced to work long hours as a full-time. The official figures for India , alone , indicate there are over 12 million labour in the country. A majority of children work in "Dhabas", "Restaurant", "Factory" . 

In 2006  law mandated that no child labour under fourteen year and like many laws in India, it's mostly no enforced. Children after school time do that non-hazardous family, advertisement , sporting activities or TV serials.

To strictly implement the complete ban on child labour in view. The state "Labour Department" has decided to make a capital free child labour, so if any is caught red-handed then "He" of "She" will have to  Pay penalty of Rs. 20,000 for violating the act of child labour.

To state "Labour Department" implement it has already initiated steps to check child labour in restaurant , dhabas , hotel , factory in found that a large number of people. with including employees of government have kept child domestic servant.

Government of India initiatives in annihilate Child Labour in India:

1. Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS) Scheme: 

As a continuation to the adoption of the National Policy for Children (1974), the Government of India(GOI) developed the combine Child Development Services Scheme, popularly known as ICDS(Integrated Child Development Service).

The objectives of the Integrated Child Development Service are as follows:

• Building the foundation for psychological,physical and emotional development of the child.
• Improve health and nutritional status of children below six years of age.
• Reduce the rate of morbidity, malnutrition, mortality and school dropouts ratio.

2. Child Labour (Regulation and Prohibition ) Act 1986: 

Article 24 of the Indian constitution expresses that, “No child below the age of fourteen years shall be employed to work in any mine or employed or factory in any hazardous employment.” The Child Labour (Regulation and Prohibition) Act of 1986 describes a child labour as a person who has not completed his/her fourteen year of age and doing labour works. Child labour act aims to normalize the working hours and the conditions of child labour and to eliminate them from the hazardous working conditions.

3. Right to Education Bill: 

The Government of India proposed the Right to Education bill in 2009 and implemented it at the grassroots level in India to demolish the child labor.

4. Rehabilitation of Children Working in Hazardous Occupations: 

On August 15, 1994, the government of India launched another program to eliminate child labor from hazardous working conditions. Special schools have been set up for their rehabilitation in which they are provided with nutrition and health-checks, education, vocational training and monthly stipends.

5. Establishment of National Authority for the Elimination of Child Labour (NAECL): 

The National Authority for the Elimination of Child Labour was established on September 26, 1994 to eliminate child labor from India. 

The major initiatives of the program are as follows:

• Child labour policy programs and formulations.
• Designing the programs, projects and schemes for eliminating the child labour from gross root level.
• Coordinating various child labour related projects among different government departments and ministries.

6. National Child Labour Project (NCLP): 

In 1988, the government of India launched the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) as a pilot project in nine districts with a motto to eradicate child labour. The children enrolled in this program were provided with formal and informal education, vocational training, and also a monthly stipend along with supplementary nutrition and health care. Initially it was started in nine districts and spread to 100 in the ninth 5-year plan and 250 in the tenth 5-year plan.

7. International Program on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC): 

International Program on the Elimination of Child Labour is a global program launched by the International Labour Organisation in December 1991. India was the first country to join it in 1992 by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with International Labour Organization(ILO).

8. INDUS Project: 

The Government of India and the US Department of Labor initiated a US$ 40 million project to eliminate child labor in 10 hazardous sectors across 21 districts of five States namely: Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and National Capital Territory of Delhi.

1 Eritrea

In top highest country with child labour in Eritrea is first rank. Political instability and poverty are root reason of child labor.Children forced to work at least two month in year during the schooling. In country 31.2 percentage child labour.

2 Somalia

The Somalia is second country of top highest. In there country abundance of child soldiers. Increasing rate of child lobour.

3 Myanmar

Myanmar is third number of top highest country with child labour. In this country largest child soldiers. Myanmar is first position in 2014 but now 3 in the list of child labor.

4 Sudan 

Sudan Is like Afghanistan. This country also been suffering from war, economic and political for many years.Sudan is forth number of highest country with child labour.

5 Afghanistan

In Afghanistan 30 percent children children are working. Afghanistan is 6 number of highest country child labour.

6 Zimbabwe

In this country very sad fact to parents themselves sent children to beg in country. The Zimbabwe was 7th position  in top highest country with child worker.

7 Burundi

The burundi is comes in top file country of poorest nation in the world. It is undergoing horrible HIV AIDS , Illiteracy , Corruption and instability of political.

8 Yemen

Yemen is now a focus of all neighbor countries and is undergoing to civil war. Important issue is government of yemen. This war led a large number of children to become soldiers.

9  Nigeria
 

The Area of Rural nigaria In Children are mostly involved in agriculture of cocoa , tobacco and cassava and urban area in mostly work in toilate , street vendors.

The 2016 Child Labour Survey :

The second International Labour Organization Statistical Information and Monitoring Program on Child Labour supported survey being undertaken in Jamaica.

In Turbat, more than 10,000 children are working as labours in different sectors. The main reason behind rising child-labour is their poor financial background. 


An investigation by human rights organisation Amnesty International and African Resources the world's biggest tech companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Samsung and Sony have been accused of benefiting from child labour.
